I am trying to find plans for either a MusicMan bass cabinet or a Fender bass cabinet.. single speaker. Anyone know where i might find them at all?

Cheers if anyone knows or can help me.

I know Sam Ash (www.samash.com) sells a Fender single 15, however, are you looking for the schematics for these? Like the measurements for the cabs and stuff? That's a bit tricky. (I'd suggest popping into the store and measuring them yourself :p)

Yes, I am after the schematics... measurements etc. Maybe someone has one about ?? Either a musicman or a fender as i believe they are pretty much the same.

Are you making your own cab?

If you feel like doing some math, you can download WinISD at:

http://www.linearteam.dk/

(there's a section for downloads; choose WinISD)

This is a freeware program that allows you to enter a speaker, a type of enclosure, and the volume of the enclosure, and it will tell you what the frequency response will be and how big to make the port. You can play with the numbers until you get a reasonably sized box that will go plenty low for bass, and probably sound better than most of the production stuff out there.

cheers.. had a look at that.. but what i really after is if someone out there has a musicman or fender bass cab to run a tape measure around them... stores dont exactly appreciate it if ya want to do it to ones they have in stock. Want something that looks and sounds old (retro) as its going to have an 75/76 Burns Flyte bass plugged into it :)

Nah, bugger it, go into Kosmic in Osborne Park and tell them you have a winter project and want to make your own cabinet, could you run a tape over one. I would. I have made my own cabinet for my Fender "The Twin" and now it is a piggyback model, much lighter and sounds sweeter.
I found that the measurements do not have to be exact to withing a millimetre, 5mm would be close enough as you can tune the cab.
Altronics, near the Perth rail station have the tubes(god, I can't think of the proper name) for that.
I have just made a couple of foldback cabinets using 18mm ply, don't use chip board it's shit. On reflection a finger jointer would have been fabulous for the box, I just glued and screwed a 40x20 strip in the sides.
Try this site www.shavanomusiconline.com they have all sorts of projects and lots of graphics.
When you are done there and want to cover the cab. go to www.partsexpress.com they have carpet for cabs or alternately go to www.antiqueradiosupply.com and they have the tolex, it's a fraction of the cost what you pay in Australia, and more importantly a bloody site quicker from the US, 10 working days usually, compared with upwards of a month here and in Aus they charge like a wounded bull. Also look at their speaker costs, I am looking at some Eminence Patriots.
email me if you get stuck, not that I can do much 1800 km north of Perth.

Oh yeah, I forgot, www.stewmac.com they also have Tolex and their price might be better, plus Antique have grille cloth too, most likely Stewmac do too.
