Hi,
i guess this shld be in recording forum but since i recorded using sonar i'll post it here. yesterday we tried recording a song and everything was perfect except for the bass.
i used an audiophile 2496 at 16/44.1. the guitar was recorded by mic-ing a marshall vs100, and the keys went direct to the mixer. the fender pbass we just connected it directly to the mixer without any DI.
the problem is that the notes are not clear at all. the bass line of this song is somewhat complex with many running 16th notes and stuff but only the first note can be heard clearly..... after that it just gets sort of unclear and muddy.
i have a few hypotheses: one is that the strings need changing. either that or we can use a DI box. any advice wld be truly appreciated!
