hi musicians!

Do you know a good DVD to learn how to play the different bass technique??
I'm a begginer player and I have a four string bass,
I don't know how to read music.
I will be playing funk/soul/disco/rnb music.

any suggestion of DVD that will suit my needs?

Peace.

im sure there are loads of clinical bass vids out there but one that i found great and i am sure you would is http://www.amazon.com/Modern-Electric-Bass-Jaco-Pastorius/dp/B00007D5JQ

simply because he kind of talks you into the whole mindset of playing the bass and how to approach it before you get bogged down in all the small stuff..

very enjoyable....and its also a slice of history from one of the greats who was acctually sober while making it.

it will inspire:)

I'll check it out.
here's an example of what I'm reaaly feeling bass wise.

if it doesn't work:

cool ...i love that band ...but you cant jump straight into that ...you will need to do some solid groundwork first ....that stuff...getting the ghost note thang going ...it comes with time ...lots of it and i dont think you can accelerate it too much.....:) you just need to fuck with it for a hell of a long time.

but jaco is a damn good place to start.

aight,
I'm still open to suggestion, you get a discount when you buy more than one.
I could also hear your suggestion for books that come with an audio CD.

Peace.
