Bass guitar wav samples

I am waiting for my ex bassist to let me borrow his bass, but was wondering if anybody has successfuly used bass guitar wav samples in a sampler (eg fruity) to get a nice warm bass sound?

I was recently super impressed with the Nskit from my drums, now Im on the search for nice single note (not loops) bass samples. Any ideas?

Sampleheads has downloadable Soundfont versions of the "Will Lee Bass Library" patches. I have 90% of those, and they're good value for the money. Since they're in Soundfont format you'll need an app that can import SF and export the WAVs. Or you could purchase the fruity soundfont player, which does very good quality rendering, IMO.
