Bring Back Transfat!
Dipstick question of the day!
Having seen a boat load of FX boxes exclusively for bass, I'm wondering if plugging a bass into a guitar processor like a GT3 will damage the the box?
Also, all I have is a 20watt Kustom bass amp. Will I do terrible things to my JCM602 if I plug the bass into it?

Sorry to bother real guitar players with this drivel, but if I don't ask, I won't know.
-Thanks

Just call me bass central b/c I keep finding your bass questions.

The bass really is no different than the electric guitar's electronically it's just the primary frequency's are obviously lower. The only equipment mix & match concerns between the two (are far as damaging something) are your guitar amp speakers. Bass frequencies take ALOT more power to be percieved to be as loud (or close to) as the typical guitar frequencies. Low level home practice volumes should not do any damage to a guitar speaker BUT high volume bass through a guitar speaker can definately send a Non-Bass prepared speaker to an early demise.

Your electronic's, preamps, effects etc.. will be safe with your bass.

Thanks, scooter. I felt silly asking, but seeing dedicated bass products made me wonder. I've got a sacraficial Peavey 65 watter I'll try playing thru.

Gethu grip,

Any time.

I also used an old Peavy Bandit the original 50 watt version circa 1982 when I first swithed to bass as a practice amp. Funny story I bought my Bandit after a friend bought one who was a Much better player but his amp just sounded better. We A/B'd with the same guitar and player throuhg them and there was a difference. So figured it was the speaker and Tried to blow it for a warantied replacement with a Bas and a Peavy Renown Amp. The speaker would not blow!... and I still had it up till a few months ago and used to bi-amp my bass rig with the highs going through it. It really made the highs and harmonics sparkle.

Enjoy
