No, obviously you don't get it Sonixx... Cause, I was not asked to stop swearing... A newbie merely suggested it might offend others.... In fact he even said HIMSELF, that it doesn't bother him..

And, yeah, I chose to continue.... In fact my continuation wasn't even against the original poster, it was in response to nwsoundsmans post and used in a joking manner.

There is enough swearing on this board done by other people than me.

Go bitch at them.. I don't care...

Don't dictate what other people can and can't say... If you watch any movie, or engage in alot of conversations you will most likely come across the use of swearing as a way of exclaiming something forcefully...

If you don't like it.. No ones asking you to say it.... and your not going to die from reading the occasional swear word...

I guarantee that!

Wow, I never thought I would get into a swearing debate on here... This is fun..

I also change lanes without signalling on quite a frequent basis.

Hey, if you have Back in Black, check out 'Shook me all night long".. it almost sounds like there is a tom layered under the snare... maybe it's just way the snare was tuned.. im not sure, but seems real powerful eh?
 
the only ACDC CD i have is The Razors Edge. it's funny, ACDC is a band that i really like about a hand full of their tunes, and i like those tunes a lot, but the others i don't care for at all. i think that's why i don't have many of their CD's. i'll look for an ACDC best hits CD. i'll check out "Shoot Me.." too, somehow.

You know, every time I spend much time in an online forum, I quickly realize why I stopped spending time in the last forum I was a part of. It's happened yet again.

I get much more out of reading Mix and related magazines than I do from this forum, simply because there's not a ton of bullshit to filter through.

Yes, this message is a nugget of that same 'bullshit', but it'll be my last.

They don't have a greatest hit's compilation as far as I know... But you will surely find the MP3 online... It'll give you an Idea of what Im talking about...

I fuckin love a big fuckin drum sound. The fuckin drum sound on Tom Petty's last couple of fuckin albums has a great big fuckin raw but simple sound.

i'm listening as i write and it sounds to me like a Wood Shell 6 or 6-1/2 inch snare with a less than super tight batter head. the drummer in my last band was a snare-o-phile and he was into the deep wood shell snare and this sounds a lot like his snares. he was just over at Xmas and brought in another 6" snare and it was awesome. it had Gold HW and was a great looking and sounding snare.

i like a looser woody snare sound...
 
I loke wooden snares too...I have a yamaha studio custom snare... I don't play drums, but I use it to make my own samples.. It's sweet.. but was about $600....

... I don't like the hollow ring that chrome snares seem to give off when they aren't tuned right, and I don't come accross many drummers who are awesome tuners...
 
i make my own samples too, but i usually end up playing the part in the end because i never seem satisfied with my programming. i've been using Frooty Loops lately but i don't like it that much. i think it's getting better with time, but it doesn't seem like it's written by drummers or with drumming in mind. i've tried others and i found one i liked (can't remember the name), but it kept aborting and the authors would never respond to eMail.

Seriously though, if we're going to start pointing fingers about wading through BS, Mix magazine hardly holds the moral high ground. Cheers!
