im currently recording a hardcore band right now and before a breakdown
they want what they call "bass booms" to intensify the effect of the breakdown.
when i listened to a sample..it sounded like a tom that was just messed around with.

but how can i achieve that sound?

Download a free program called "Stomper Hyperion". It is a drum sound synthesizer. You can custom create a sample with any attack, decay, and frequency characteristics. Perfect for "bass drops", as everybody around here refers to them.

I'll try to find a link......

Trigger an oscillator with a descending low end tone...say..60hz to 20hz..

Voila

you should call the drummer milky at your next session.

"leche"= milk in spanish

this may be stylistic. but i thougth the main voice was too treble sounding. as was the guitar.

i don't listen to this stuff much though. maybe turn up the bass guitar.

the 2:09 kick seemed just a tad tinny too. maybe thats why it needs that boom you're searching for.

anyways...if it sounds like a tom...try it out. try anything to see what produces the best results
