Bass amp trouble (noise)

I have an older Peavey TNT bass amp. This thing is a pretty cool old beast, but it has developed a problem.

It makes a loud buzzing sound whenever it is powered up, even when all controls are at zero and no instrument is plugged in. The volume controls do not effect the level of the noise. It is constant and steady. I tried plugging it into different outlets to no avail. None of my other equipment is experiencing noise issues from the same outlets. Any ideas or suggestions?

At a guess it's probably something to do with the power supply such as a bad filter cap that's not removing the AC component after the power supply rectifier.
Probably time for a visit to the repair shop.

That sounds reasonable. It definitely seems power related. Guess it's time to look for a tech in my neighborhood. Thanks.
