I recently inherited a position teaching music production at a high school with a well-equipped studio, but it was all disassembled when I got there and now I'm trying to figure out how to hook everything together. My previous experience with digital audio consisted of two keyboards and my iMac running through my home stereo system.
Here's what I've got now:
4 MIDI Keyboards/PC's
EMU Proteus/1 & 3 Sound modules
Alesis Quadra Verb Effects Processor
Roland U-220 Sound Module
Sony A7 ADAT Deck
Electro Voice Power Amp
TASCAM PortaStudio
Mackie 1202 12 channel mixer

2 JBL 4200 Speakers
2 JBL 622 Bass Speakers

I've got a general idea of how to hook up all the analog equipment but not sure how to get the digital stuff into the mix.

Please help!

Here's how my school had its setup for its MIDI class:

(all computers)
Keyboard MIDI Out to Computer MIDI In
Computer MIDI Out to Keyboard MIDI In

(one computer)
Keyboard MIDI Through to Synth#1 MIDI In
Synth#1 MIDI Through to Synth#2 MIDI In
Synth#2 MIDI Through to Synth#3 MIDI In
All Synth Audio Outs to individual Mixer channel inputs
Mixer Aux Outs to Effects Units Ins
Effects Units Outs to Mixer Aux Ins
Mixer Tape Outs to Record Units
Mixer Main Outs to Amp
Amp to speakers/Headphones

Four keyboard/computer setups would be used for creating projects (I assume each keyboard has its own sounds).

When a student has his/her final project ready to be recorded, you have one computer hooked up to the synths and mixer setup as described.

Each student is given one or two class periods to audition all of the synths to determine which patches to use on their project.

Each student then has one session to use the mixer to apply eq, pan, volume, effects to his/her project and mixdown to ADAT or CD.
