so I've recorded a couple acoustic tracks in audacity, and i need to know some stuff.
in using a electric/acoustic guitar with a nice chord to a hercules digifre 7.1 via 1/4 in to 3.5mm adapter and a headphone splitter. on the other side, i have a microphone (not that nice, but i dont need to upgrade till later)
so, is the splitter reasonable to get a good sound? is there an external soundcard that is better to do that job or that i should plug the guitar directly into? Whats a good inexpiensive microphone to buy? what are some ways to eliminate the popping i sometimes hear relating to the microphone? static and the guitar?
any help would be appreciated
