Balanced connector adapters

If I use a 1/4" TRS - Male XLR adapter to connect a balanced audio cable to a balanced input, would the signal chain still be balanced?

OR

Does the adapter affect the balanced signal even though it is theoretically balanced?

as long as you keep it a 3 conductor lead tied to a 3 conductor lead...you'll be fine. Hot and Cold just need to go to their appropriate destinations

if you're soldering this yourself wire pin 2 to Tip, pin 3 to Ring and pin 1 to sleeve.
