balanced and unbalanced cables

ok, so i did a search on the forum, but all the threads were screwed up with jumbled html, so I'm going to ask the question anyway.

I'm not new to recording, but I'm new to computer recording. I just bought the Echo Mia, and it has balanced inputs and outputs.

Do I need special 1/4" cables for this, or can I use regular instrument cables?

I don't want to blow anything up, so I'll wait for an answer.

Sure- go ahead and use regular 1/4" TS. You won't get a balanced connect but it shouldn't matter very much as far as the signal quality and it won't blow anything up.

Thanks man. I just wanted to make sure, because blown-up cards and mixers are bad, Mmmkay? (in a Mr. Mackie voice).
