Can anyone help me backing up my projects to CDR on pro tools. but heres the problem, I tried to save a project to cdr and did all procedures but when I erased the project from my hard drive and then loaded from the cdr it loaded up perfect my whole project was there but the tracks were missing actual sound. can anyone help?

I suggest your use your CDR to backup the directories and files used by Pro Tools. That approach will usually do what you want.

Yes I did that but it is not saving the actual tracks..audio tracks.
It saves but it says it cant find exp: wave.1 track.

I would suggest not using Pro Tools for your backups. Use cd burner software and create a data cd with your files.

As a general rule, Windows backup software can backup any file on your system that is not in use and fits on the backup media. It you get files errors, it may means the files do not exist.

And NEVER delete files until you have checked the CD out on not just your computer but another to make sure it REALLY worked.

(Been there, done that!)

Yes I learned that..do you have any advice for backing up on pro tools? Thanks

it's probably looking for the files in the same folders they were in when they were on the hard drive.

you'll have to tell it where they are now.

Thanks, that makes sense. I just got to figure out how to do that.
