Ok, i hooked up my pre-amp to my line-in soundcard, and theres this buzzing noise when i turn the distortion cabinet on my pre-amp. How can i get rid of it? are there some good EQ'S out there to download that will solve this problem? perhaps "Winamp" or "Magix" software "Etc"..?

Also, i wan't to hook my mono mic in the line-in at the same time my guitar....what exact Y adapter do i need? "mono to stereo"? "stereo to mono"? "stereo to stereo" "Etc..?

lol, ill go buy these supplies at Radioshack if you guys tell me what i need. I know you are all very well knowledged that's why i ask. I apreciate this alot. thank you so much! :)

Assuming that the input on your sound card is a 1/8" mini-plug, you need mono/mono to stereo.

The two mono sources should be whatever type connection you are plugging in. Probably 1/4" mono phone jacks.

If so, the Y connection would be 2 female 1/4" (mono) phone jacks to 1 1/8" male stereo mini-plug.

Obviously if the connection on your sound card or input devices are different, you would need to change accordingly.

Assuming you wanna hook 2 things to the line in on the computer you could use a 1/8" stereo to stereo female RCA and then get a couple male RCA to 1/4" female adaptors. Problem with this is you need a mic pre. You might be able to use both the mic input and the line input on the sound card though. You don't wanna split a mono input and run 2 things into it with a y plug. Can't explain it electronicaly, but from experience I think it causes the imedance to increase and it won't sound right.
I dunno if I'd bother with trying to record straight out of an amp pre. it won't sound very good. Best to mic the amp unless you got a pod or something you can use, but I never really liked the way cab simulators sounded either...
