Hi all,

Recorded a track the other night at a friends house and I took the drums for some roland v-drums; however the kick seems a bit too loud now I get home.

Anyone think they could have a play with it for me to try reduce the 'oomph' of the kick drum usign EQ or whatever?

Thanks!

(ps. I'm a total noob at this, and I use adobe audition)

I'm assuming that: 1) you recorded the audio output of the V-Drums, not the MIDI notes 2) you recorded the 2-channel stereo output of the entire kit.

Most of the "oomph" from the kick drum will come anywhere between 125Htz and 300Htz, depending on the kick sample used. If you've got an eq plugin with a sweepable frequency on the low end, cut a few dB around 150Htz and slowly sweep the frequency upward until you rid the offending frequency. (see pic)
