Yes, but then Yamaha acquired Steinberg from Pinnacle. Steinberg's not part of this deal.
 
In in unrelated note, I just realized that AVID is based about 20 mins from where I live, I should go intern there
 
avid also bought out m-audio a while ago right? and now (potentially) they have bought out cubase makers? haha world domination....

An even faster reference is to go to google and type in the phrase ..."Yamaha acquires Steinberg"....that'll give you 8 bazillion links to read.

I don't normally peruse the Steinberg forums since I'm a Cakewalk user. ;)
 
There is mention of the Yamaha purchase on Steinbergs website, you just have to dig a bit:)
