On my Behringer MXb1002, there is a single mono aux send, with no return. To have a return, you have to put the output of your aux equipment into channels 9/10. I plan on running an EQ, a reverb unit, (most likley a SpaceXpander) and/or a Roland Echoplex. My question is this: Can I run more than one effect on a send, and still be able to have just reverb on say, channel one, while channel 2 has reverb, and echo? How would I have it so channel one (drums let's say) has reverb and echo, and I just want to turn up the reverb on Channel 2 (guitar possibly) Is it possible?

Oh, and where do I set up my EQ or compressor? In the aux send? Before the signal hits my mixer?

Any input (no pun intended :D ) would be welcome.

Generally you will be needing two channels for stereo effects. If you are using two channels for different effects you will end up with mono effects, if it is alright with you.

No, you cannot put 2 different effects on 2 separate channels with one aux send.

OK, thanks guys. I guess I'll be better off with the DMT8 from Fostex, it's got 2 aux sends.....

Correction above, I meant to say Roland Space Echo

Anyone know where the EQ goes?

On an insert if that mixer has them. I would not put an EQ in an effects send/return. These are intended for effects, not a processor.

Does it have 'Inserts' on the channels? If so, your compression and EQ go there.

Your mic allways has to go to the preamp first, in this case the preamps are in the mixer. I looked up the Behringer MXb1002 and the four channels with mic preamps DO have inserts. These are an in/out loop that's configured right after the mic preamp section and trim pot of the channel circuit and returns just before the EQ/Fader section of the channel circuit. This is where you would patch a processor like an external EQ or a compressor. Time based effects like reverbs, delays, flangers, etc are patched to Aux sends/returns.

Thank you guys so very much. I was wondering what those were for. Now I know.
