Never heard of one, although the technology does exist. I would assume that now, with recent advances in electronics, that badboy could even tune itself as you play.

I've use Anteres auto tune on guitar leads (slide in particular) for a while now. It works just fine on individual notes, not at all on two or more strings.

Jimmy page has that system in a Les Paul or two that will automatically change to pre-programmed open tunings. Pretty cool!

A good buddy of mine is friends with Dave Beegle, one of the first guys to use a Transperformance. IN fact, he is supposedly the first ever to use it on a recorded performance. It is pretty cool to hear him hit a chord and let it ring while the guitar retunes. So for instance, he'll hit an "E" in standard tuning and then press the button for "DADGAD" tuning, and the guitar will retune while he's holding the chord. some strings drop in pitch while others raise, etc. Very surreal.
I've never actually held one, but from what I hear they are very heavy. Frankly, I don't think they have much of a future other than as a novelty. I think the Roland V-Guitar pickup thing is advancing much faster and is much cheaper, and that also gives a guitarist many of the same possibilites. The drawback there, however, is that even though "DADGAD" might be coming out of the speakers, the physical guitar is still in standard tuning, so it seems to me it just wouldn't feel right. Talk about surreal!
