auto-track expansion mode

got a bit stuck on something here:


was tracking today at a local studio when i must've lent on the keyboard or something and turned on this function I've never even heard about. Every time I inserted the edit cursor on a particular track, it would change the vertical size of that track and make it slightly bigger. When I clicked off that track on to another one, the first track would shrink and the second one would become bigger (vertically).

Brilliant.


I think i would quite like that mode to be on all the time. Anyone know how to do that?!

First one to tell me how to do it gets 1'000 interwebs.

Alright, here's my little nugget of wisdom for you...

Make sure zoom toggle is enabled (it's the button under the zoomer tool)

Go to Setup--->Preferences--->Editing tab---> look at the bottom right and check Zoom Toggle Follows Edit Selection.

Now where's my 1000 interwebs!
