Well if I mess with the settings it will but it'll only record on one side at a VERY LOW volume. So it doesn't show the visualizer. The "waves" or whatever. I tried raising the volume in Windows Mixer. Doesn't help.

I have a Samson C01U USB Studio Condenser mic. I use Adobe Audition 3 and I'm on Vista if that helps.

The first thing I would check is that the driver for the mic is loaded and working correctly. Can you record from that mic using the "Sound Recorder" software in Windows instead of Audition? If not, check that the levels in the mic control software are up.

If that works then (in Audition) check the input source on the recording track. Each track has a choice of where the audio *comes from* for recording and *goes to* for playback. It is part of the track properties. That should be set to the USB device.

Hope this helps a little.

for the Samson C01U mic
there's a downloadable program called Samson SoftPre
Get that first. That will be able for you to set the Volume of ur mic

and for AA 3. I would believe that you've done the Edit > Audio Hardware Setup.. to make it all work for the C01u right?
And you have to set it as a Mono not a Stereo channel, Because it will only pick up on one side of the mic.
