Hi everyone, I've just started getting interested in recording, so you'll see me around here often asking dumb questions.
Anyways, I just got a m-audio Audiophile USB interface, and I have some questions about it.
I installed the latest drivers and got the MIDI input working, when I use Absyth the piano lights up and I hear it.
The problem I'm having is that in the sound properties menu, where I pick the sound out device, it only says "Audiophile 1/2", and when I play any kind of sound it's only coming out of one of my speakers. I'm using the RCA outs.
The other question I have is how to I make it so I can hear the input live? One of the main things I want to do is just play backing tracks and then play guitar along with it, but whenever I play through the input I don't hear anything, yet if I hit record it will record the signal.
Also, what would be the best way to hook up my Rocktron effects processor to the Audiophile? It either has 2 quarter-inch outputs or two XLR inputs, and the Audiophile has either RCA in, quater-inch in, or S/PIDF inputs. What would be the best way to plug those two things together for best sound quality?
Thanks every for reading, any help would be greatly appreciated.
