I've finally got my Audiophile to read the S/PDIF signal from my POD Pro, but the problem is now, I can't play any audio from my PC while recieving S/PDIF signal.
When I set the audiophile's mixer for S/PDIF, all my other audio programs stop working. They say the software can't play at certain sample rate or audio device is in use by other program.

How can I set it up so that I can record S/PDIF and playback wav files meanwhile?

I will anwser ya question since i asked the same thing and got no responses.

Put ya settings like this:

AUDIO
__________

(Sound playback) WavOut S/PDIF DELTA-AP

(Sound Recording) PCM In 1/2 Delta-AP

Make sure you put the Audiophile mixer settings both on MONITOR.

You welcome.

thanks for your reply.

Ok, now, where do I go set those settings? Inside my recording program? I tried on both Vegas and SoundForge, and it didn't work...

The only way I have found to hear my POD thru S/PDIF if change the setting in the Audiophile mixer to: Patchbay->S/PDIF In and Hardware setting->S/PDIF IN

Can you please explain a little more? Also, am I able to record both analog and S/PDIF at the same time?

Put these same settings in all ya music programs:

Sound playback) WavOut S/PDIF DELTA-AP

(Sound Recording) PCM In 1/2 Delta-AP

Gidge!

hank god, you stopped by. Can you please tell me how to set the M-Audio's mixer up to record S/PDIF and analog at the same time, meanwhile playing back wav files?

Ok, here are the settings that work for me when i have my J-Station hooked up to the S/PDIF....there may be other/better ways to do it.......

on the Monitor Mixer screen of the Control Panel, make sure all stereo links are checked, none of the solos or mutes are checked, faders are hard left and right, and all volume faders are completely up.....1 AP should be checked on all screens

onPatchbayRouter, select Monitor Mixer for HW OUT 1/2 and S/PDIF OUT......

on Hardware Settings, check S/PDIF......check 44,100 as the sampling rate....check reset rate when idle.....check single and in sync....check consumer.....check disable control.......set DMA buffer as needed.......

under S/PDIF screen, check consumer......

if this doesnt work for ya, let me know.....with the error message you are getting, it may be something else besides this settings.....

Thanks for your info. Now, I can hear and see the S/PDIF and analog sgnals coming in my pc.

Problem:
I can't record them. Whenever I try to record, an error message says, "the recording device(PCM 1/2 in, S/PDIF, Mon Mixer Delta AP, Sound Mapper) does not support one or more of the current formmate parameters (sample rate, number of channels, or bits per sample)"
So, how do I set the recording program up in order to record either S/PDIF, analog signal or both??

Thanks,

AL

somewhere in software there should be a place to set your sampling rate to 44,100......i dont have a copy of Vegas installed right now, but hopefully someone familiar with it can tell you where the settings are.....i would guess that it is simply a mismatch of sampling rates somewhere between the card and the software.....

Gidge:

for some very odd reason, Vegas chooses Microsoft SoundMapper as a recording driver, and it doesn't support 24/46K bits.
Now, I tried the same thing on Sonar and it says, "1/2 Delta in doesn't support selected format(which is 24/48K bits)"....any clue?

What software do you use and how do you set them up?
thank you

AL

you have to set it to 44.1 (44,100)......

and then again your version of Vegas might not support 24bit at all.....try recording at 16 bit 44,100.......

i use N-Track...it supports 24 bit.......
