I've been thinking about recording at 88200 and just down sampling the track before mixing. So I was looking at the delta control panel and thought for a second what would happen if I set the sample rate to 88200.
I thought for a second that maybe the card would run a higher clock and dither the on the way in. I'm pretty sure now that that's not the case, but anyhow I tried it to see what happens. What happenned was I couldn't boot into windows anymore, I had to log into safe mode and turn off all the sounds that play at login/startup just to be able to login normally and reset the codec rate back in the delta control panel.
So wtf is this setting for anyhow? Most software will select a sample rate on it's own, so what possible application could this setting have?
