audiophile 2496 problems

Well, I got my audiophile 2496 soundcard today. For some reason I cannot get the driver to install. The driver disk that came with it was a little outdated (no driver for XP), so I went to the M-audio site and downloaded the appropriate driver. But I still can't get it to work! The XP driver is saved as a .zip file and it doesn't show up when I "browse" for it. Am I missing a step? What am I doing Wrong? I am really hoping somebody out there can help a brother out.
 
Unzip it to a directory on your HD. Right click on My Computer, select Properties->Hardware->Device Manager. Find the Audio device listed with the yellow "?". Right click on it, select Properties->Driver->Update Driver. Point to the directory where you unzipped the files and let it do its thing.
