Hey guys.

I'm somewhat new to the whole recording buisness but I do have some problems with my current setup.

As it is now, I am using a Soundcraft mixer (Compact 4) to record guitar through my Audiophile 2496 soundcard. The sound is smooth in the mixer through the monitors but when I record on the computer through the Audiophile the sound gets terrible on the recorded track!!

Here is a recording I did so you can hear it:

What can cause this and if there is a solution to it then I please help with whatever you can.

Thank you for reading!

I can't hear the hi-fi version (not yet cleared), so on the low-fi the warbling could be mp3 artifacts - is it? Otherwise it sounds thin and tinny.

You could be recording the monitored and direct sound together, and as one is slighlty delayed, you're getting comb filtering. I don't know how you have things set up, but check your output 1/2 isn't set to Monitor mixer in the Delta control panel and that you've not got "input monitoring" enabled in your recording software - which is?
