audiophile 2496 and XP home

I'm posting for a friend of mine, whose Gateway with XP Home has not been working well since he installed his AP card, DSL/ high speed internet no longer works. Are there any problems with running XP Home and the 2496? I have XP pro and the 2496 and it works fine

Not for me.

I've been using Home and my AP2496 with no problems since I bought my new system this past summer.

Most DSL setups require the use of a network card. Most of those that don't use USB. In either case, if everything was working fine before installing the Audiophile card, my first place to look would be a IRQ conflict between one of these and the Audiophile. Check in the Device manager to see which IRQs the devices are using. If any are being shared, change things so they are not. Often certain PCI slots, and the AGP slot too, want to share IRQs. A good motherboard like ASUS will detail that in the manual, but I highly doubt that Gateway will.
