all up in yo grill!
everytime i try to physically install the card, when i turn on ME. windows will load but will stop and give me a "cmdninst" kind of message basically locking up the computer. i take out the card and went on ahead and installed the drivers and when i install the card it'll come up with the same message. i've tried disabling the onboard audio through the bios screen and that doesnt help. also tried the install new hardware in the control panel....it doesnt detect it. faulty audiophile card or human error? please give me some tips before i put a bullet in this card and swear off m-audio products for life.....or is it just the fact that i have ME...it claims it'll work with it but it doesnt have its on installation section in the manual.

Sound like a major resource conflict. What else do you have in the computer? Any chance of installing the AP in a different slot? (I have a computer with only 1 PCI slot, so that's why I ask the question.)

OK, so have you tried moving the AP to a different slot?

Drat! I was hoping you'd say, "Golly, no, I didn't think of that. I moved it, and now it works great!"

Any way you could borrow another computer an install there to find out if the card is defective?

ok i didnt try it on another comp....i just installed windows 98 on my comp since ME was acting up..come to find out it was the command installer in ME thats the problem.....i kinda think maudio new that and thats why they didnt give instructions for it in their manual.....but its all good! the card works! thats all i can ask for... some might say devine intervention cause ME started acting up the day before i bought the card and i wasnt able to play any recordings or mix any songs without static and then audio drop out....fearing it was all screwed i just erased it....it doesnt bother me too much since i had better ideas on songflow anyways...now i get to do it with a decent piece of equipment.
