I just upgraded to this soundcard from a audigy ZS pro cause the audigy was causing my computer to freak out when its booting, and i noticed it does not have a port for my speakers to plug into. Was this card only meant for recording and not playback? Is this meant instead to be connected to a reciever soundsystem?

Wow! It is like neither of you actually understood his post! Freakin' amazing. :(

Yes, it was intended to have to hook up to a "reciever soundsystem". It does not have a power amplifier built in to power speakers.

It has 2 balanced 1/4" (TRS) Outputs. You need to hook those either directly to some Active (powered) monitors/speakers, or hook those directly to a power amp (home audio reciever will work) and then hook that to Passive (unpowered) monitors/speakers.
