I bought an Audio-Technica PR1000HE mic at a Guitar Center about 15 years ago. It's a hyper-cardoid dynamic that has more gain than an SM58. It served me well as a live vocal mike during the brief period that I used it. At the time it cost a bit less than $100, as I recall.
I drug it out of the closet last night to check the model number, and I find that Audio-Technica no longer uses this designation for any of its mics. The closest thing I can find in their catalog is the PRO 61, but I have no idea if my mike has anything in common with it other than the general category.
Does anyone have experience with the PR1000HE? If so, do you have any comments about its suitability for uses other than a vocal mic?
