Audio-technica AT4050 - pops and crackles

I've got an Audio Technica mic that crackles and pops terribly anytime I move the mic stand or adjust/touch it in any way (even though it's shock mounted). I tried different XLR cables in case it might be a bad cable but still have the issue. Once it's "sitting still" it records just fine. What concerns me most is that every now and then I have to shake it around a little so that the sound kicks in - then it's ok.

Any advice is appreciated.

Sounds like it's in need of repair. Send it back to AT or local mic tech
Could be a number of faults, grounding, power supply, fet....... The list goes on.
