Well, I think I'm heading in the direction of getting an AT 4047. Musicians friend has the AT4047 for $549, while all of the other online stores advertise AT4047/SV for $699. What is the "/SV", does anyone know if there is a difference?

There was nothing specific but the /SP after the other mics mean studio pac...but usually the /SV could mean there is something extra.

Its a good direction...its sound is based on a Neumann u47...I scored mine hardly used at $300.

8th Street, Guit Center, Musicians Friend, Zzounds all sell it for $549. So that means "all the other online stores" do not sell it for $699.

OK, so my original post should have said "every other online store that I checked sells the /SV for $699" (front end audio, sweetwater both have it for $699)

I left out "that I checked"

Don't hang on every word so literally, dude.

If you read my post I did check MF. I was asking if they sell the /SV 'cause it doesn't say, and what's the difference.

So, since you so kindly found it in your heart to blast me, do you have the answer to my original question? Is the version that MF sells the model ending in /SV, because it doesn't say so on their website?

Id consider thanking someone that just saved me $150

You might even do better than that since I got mine new for $300...you should try ebay...Ill check the MF website but I believe that they should be all packaged with the shockmount.

The "SV" simply means silver. It's the standard version.

The "MP" referred to above is a new design - it's multipattern, while the regular version is cardiod only.

I have the SV and love it on vocals. I hear it's also a great tom mic, but I don't mic drums so I wouldn't know...

I was assuming that since the SV was attached to the shockmount that it meant that was it.

I didn't blast you, dude, I corrected you. There is a significant difference--just as there is a significant difference between "all other online stores" and "all other online stores that I checked."

I also provided the names of several other online stores that sell the 4047 for $549. Judging from your response, I gather you didn't find that information helpful.
