OK, I've got a couple of questions here. I'm looking into upgrading to a better condensor mic, but I'm not sure which one to get exactly. Depending on how much money I have, I'm looking at the audio-technica AT2020 and AT3035, which cost 100 and 200 dollars, respectively. So my first question is how big of a difference is there between the two and is it worth the extra 100 which could go towards a drum mic package, which I'm also looking for (which I'll talk about in a second). Also I was looking at the AKG Perception 200, which is 160 dollars. Has anyone had any experience with any of these mics and could possibly post a comparison? They are all very highly rated mics.
Another question I had, was that I was looking at drum mic packages, and I came upon CAD's standard drum packages. They have a 4-piece (3 tom/snare with clips, 1 bass) for 140, and a 6-piece (same but with 2 pencil overhead condensors) for 180.
I'm wondering if it's worth it to get the drum pack with the overheads in order to keep consistency and to be able to record the overhead in stereo, or to get the 4-piece and use the condensor mic from above to use as the overhead.
Thanks for any help,
David
