I went to guitar center the other day, and they recomended the firestation...I was coming here to see what people thought of it too...so far, I guess no one has tried it :)

Tat Radar is pricey as hell, but if you consider not getting a PC plus a decent soundcard, you would end up paying the same thing. Damn, I hadn´t thought about this before, should´ve done that instead of going the PC/soundcard way.....But then again, how would I surf for porn without my PC???:D
If you're smart you can get a PC/Soundcard system for under $1500 ($500 for the computer, $700 for the 8 in 8 out card, and $300 for the software). Radar never sells for less than around $5000.

but will it sound as good as the radar? i think not..

you can always 'upgrade' your sound by investing in a good clock, makes the difference between eg. Digidesign and Apogee A/D's a *lot* smaller.

I never claimed it sounded as good as the Radar. I was just disputing alonso's claim that a PC/soundcard combo was just as cheap as the radar. I know the A/D D/A on the Radar is better than most, if not all, soundcards.

WHO has tried ALL of these systems?

If you don't, you can NOT sincerely vote in this poll..!

Obviously, what people are voting for is primarily what they have, secondly, what they wish they had. That's what I did (Delta 1010 that I have).

I am assuming that a poll IS looking for peoples Opinions?;)

Informed or not?

dagnabbit, no RME HDSP9652, Soundscape Mixtreme, or Lynx cards?

if you really feel that RADAR's converters are the best in the world, just plug it into the RME or Mixtreme's digital I/O, unless you dont need extensive editing and have moving fader automation on your console, in which case bypass the PC by all means

Motu 2408 Mk3

Works great now on my new system. Many many many I/O's. 24 bits, 96kHz. SPDif, TDif, ADAT, Analog, Word, SMPTE.

:D

I must chime in with Aardvark's Tech support, which I think is very important. I had a problem with my Q10 and emailed their tech support. They emailed me back promptly and told me how to fix the problem, or they would be gladly to repair it. I had left an insert cable plugged in the back and thouht one of my chanels went bad. They told me to check that and it fixed the problem. I was very pleased to know that they didn't blow me off, or belittle me for a problem I caused. Anyways Tech support is a huge issue with me. That is why I won't buy anymore ABIT products either!

my 2 cents,
larry

I totally agree, the BEST choice. I have a 308 with it, so I get sooooooooooo many analog and digital inputs/outputs.
