I would like what is the best audio system for studio recording.
I woul like to know your opinions, what is your favorite, what you use.

You forgot to mention Digital Audio Labs, Dakota and Lynx.

All really nice stuff.

But I wanted 8 analog inputs on the cheap so I went with the Delta 1010. Works for me.

I second the Delta Series.
RME Hammerfall is nice to, but pricey

worst of the best

That SSL looks like its been kicked around the block. The Studer gave me a woody though. Damn, those are fine machines.

Love my STAudio C-port.. next thing to add is their DPS3000 system.

if you have money to burn check out the Radar 24 its a stand alone recorder...from what i've been hearing the converters are second 2 none so u can use this as a front end to your computer or scratch the computer completely if you have an externam mixer

check it out at

A vote for the Q10, but then I have no point of reference since it's my first piece of audio recording gear.

If I had started out with a sound blaster card probably would have posted that it was shit hot.

UPon information and belief, the RADAR is the best hard disc recording machine.

B o B

Didn't Otari stop making the RADAR? There was a studio around here that sold one to some place in Texas a year or so ago because he got out of recording and set up a mastering room and I thought he told me that Otari had quit making that. Did I dream that up?

Tat Radar is pricey as hell, but if you consider not getting a PC plus a decent soundcard, you would end up paying the same thing. Damn, I hadn´t thought about this before, should´ve done that instead of going the PC/soundcard way.....But then again, how would I surf for porn without my PC???:D

The post above this one reads 10-28-o2. Why is it on the new posts page? Did someone answer, then delete post? Am I trippin? What's up w/ this?

No. But when somebody at least votes in the poll, it moves the thread back up and shows it as having a new reply to it, even though there is no new "post" in it.

for me it would be the Ardvark Q10. but that is because i don't need a mixer, and it has so many god damn useful features it will be all i need besides a RNC, some nice mics and possible a high end outboard preamp in the future.

But depending on your situation another card would be better. IE: if you have a mixer with decent preamps like a mackie or soundcraft, then the ardvark is a waste of money because your paying for preamps you don't need.

Are you asking this for research on a future purchase? Or just for an intresting topic? If it is for personal information on a purchase, maybe list what you plan on having your setup as.
