Audio Problems, New PC. (VIA Cipset)

Sounds more likely to me that you have selected the wrong driver. What driver are you using within Cubase?

I never had luck with M-audio hardward and VIA chipsets. Mind you, this was back when I had my 2496 and a motherboard with the KT400 chipset (if I remember right). Moved to Echo audio products and never looked back.

This is an old issue, and I would *assume* drivers may have gotten better over time, but I can't say for sure.

I would first ask the same question as xstatic though - which driver in Cubase?

Is Cool 'n' Quiet generally a bad idea to have enabled? I've got an AMD 64 X2 and have it enabled currently.

Not meaning to take the thread off track, just curious.

well, it's not meant to affect the performance....but I'm not comfortable using it.

"Quiet Fan"...Smart disk....speedstep........I won't use them while recording.

Cool n Quite.. I didn't even install it..

ASIO M-Audio driver in Cubase.

Anyway, I'm gonna sell this PC or something...

I gonna buy Intel CPU with Intel Chipsets,
I know it's possible to solve problems on this pc, but why compromise on DAW!..

as I have done...just make sure you use any reasonable video card from ATI (Radeon) in your daw.
They just seem to work so much better, stability wise, from my experiences and testing, in PC recording......IN MY OWN PERSONAL OPINION!;)

checkya...spit.
