Hello! Every1's night is going well i hope?
I want to begin recording an acoustic guitar and mic via my laptop to do some recording. After a little surfing it seems that one of the first things i will need is an Audio Interface. The presonus audio box sounds/looks good. Any Advice, any1?

The AudioBox is cool. Another interface you might want to check out is the Focusrite Saffire 6. It retails for $50 more than the AudioBox, but I'm selling a gently used one in the Free Ads section of this forum for $145. Either way you go you'll end up with a great interface. If you choose the AudioBox, you might want to look up some of the issues associated with it and make sure it fits your needs and works with your setup.

I use the AudioBox. Never had an issue, easy to setup & the included software is nice. Look at some of the M-Audio fast Track products in that price range too tho that include scaled down versions of Pro Tools. Or if you have software already look at the Tascam US-144mkII. Lot of people like it. Bottom line make sure your laptop meets the minimum requirements.

For acoustic, you want to google x-y micing. You want an interface with 2 preamps, phantom power, and then a couple of condenser mics. Lots of options available, but like I said, research acoustic guitar recording before you buy anything.

I would recommend the pro-audio fast track pro. Its easy to use and setup, if purchased new(150$) it comes with protools se.

Alesis Multimix 8 (or 16) USB 2.0 is a good interface. Those Presonus firestudio looks pretty good too. I also hear good things about Zoom
