I am experiencing a problem--when I try to import an audio track--acid or prerecorded track--- into Sonar 2 it is completly garbled and unintelligible.

My computer is brand new with SB Live

What have you set the bitrate and samplingrate to in Sonar?

Yeah, sounds like your Sonar settings do not match the sample rate/bit rate for the imported data.

It's easy to fix. Just change the samplerate in Acid (or whatever program you're using) to what you have in Sonar, and export again.

Or you can load the samples in an audioeditor and do the changes there.

:)

thanks....I will check the sampling rate...
The weird thing is that I get the problem no matter what..

Importing video...audio....direct recording....however when I play one of the sample projects...they sound fine....very confusing...

Not to mention...sonar doesn't seem to want to recognize my sound card as stereo....sblive....so it reverts to mono.

Download the new drivers from Creative, or use Microsofts driver (Win2000/XP). :)

thanks moskus...maybe that will take care of one of the problems...its just frustrating...Its hard enough coming up with good tunes without the software hassle...

I'd say the hassles comes from your SB Live!.... but some say it's a good card (and I'm not one of those, anymore ;))

I hear you---a new sound card is in order because the transfer from my br-532 is via flash---so it is a bit of a pain..

Sblive----I am getting a new midi controller and want to use the soundfonts.

Its just strange that recording a playback is fine in acid.. but not with sonar....I must have changed something while I was trying to figure out why I had a 400ms delay.

Thanks for your help---I'm going to update my drivers tonight and see if that clears things up.

I doubt it though....the sample songs play fine...its just any recorded or imported file that soundss hyper slow...scratchy...I wish I had a sound file to share.

Maybe I should re-install? I get the feeling my tax refund is going to get reinvested into gear...
