Okay, I know absolutely nothing about recording, but I want to get some equipment to record a couple different characters having a conversation, so I can do a flash animation to it. (Up until now, I've always used mp3's and wav files off the internet.) I am assuming my idea would include maybe 2 microphones, but I really don't know anything more than that. What do I need to buy to let me do this project without it sounding like I used a fischer price recorder? I'm on a really limited budget, so the simpler and cheaper the solution, the better.

Thanks!

Depending on if your soundcard is acceptable, if all you are using it for is voice overs then I would just get a decent dynamic mic plug it into the sound card and call it a day. Use cool edit or something to work on the audio.... just a cheap idea. ;)

Do they have splitters for that kind of thing? I am hoping to maybe let the two people speak at the same time, but have each voice on its own track.
