Audio Dropouts in Sonar XL

What are some settings that I can adjust on within Sonar or on my computer to prevent audio dropouts? The dropouts usually occur around areas with a higher number of tracks stacked on each other (ex. vocals). I've heard of adjusting buffer levels. Do I move them up or down? Any other suggestions?

make a search for "dropout" in the cakewalk forum... lotsa solutions there...

Cakewalk forum is a start. Also check out www.musicxp.net for basic tips on configuring you pc. Hopefully freeze function in SP4 will help reduce frequency of dropouts.
