For someone with almost NO experience with electrical circuits. Where would anyone suggest learning basic circuits, schematics etc. I'd like to muck around with building some REALLY BASIC pre's.
any ideas?

i'll definitely look through them. from what i glanced at briefly, they seem like they require some circuit knowlege. Any tips on very beginner projects?

your local radio shack has some beginner books, analog and digital, which probably by themselves won't enable you to build pre-amps, but it will give you a lot of the information in plain english.

used text books

I would recommend finding some used college level texts. "Intro to AC/DC circuits" and the like. You should be able to find them for cheap at a new/used book store. Or bettere yet go to the library (free). I am currently in college electronics classes and our books are great at teaching basic circuits and diagram reading.

heheh

Both those sound like great ideas, and are much appreciated..... however :)
Second hand college books are hard to come by here as our local college, doesn't really offer any second hand books. And Radio shack here is kind of a joke. It's a one room store (bout 12x12) that's probably carried the same stock of components for the last 20 years. Honestly, i dunno how they're still in business. No books, no kits. Can't even buy a decent multimeter there. Almost like if you could imagine the first radio shack ever! heheh
I live in Bermuda and it's hard to come by much of anything. Buying equipment is really difficult and extremely expensive (import duty is 33%). Not that we're a technically defunct island, it's just hard to come by things.
I think i might have to try and order some project kits online, if they'll ship here.
