Without creating the interface/connections on the actual wall with an XLR plate or whatever, what is the best way to bring multiple snake cables through drywall(I want to plug these cable ends into my mixer) - like with conduit or whatever to make it look nice and organized? What kind of boxes/connectors are available for this?

Thanks.

Other than (as you said) putting XLR connectors and boxes in the wall, you can get rubber grommets of varying sizes. These will protect the cables, as well as providing a moderately pleasing look.

Get some plain electrical box cover plates from Home Depot (or wherever - the kind that would cover up an unused cable outlet box, electrical box, etc.) and rubber grommets of the diameter you need to feed the cables through. Drill a hole in the plate, mount the grommet in the hole, and feed the cables through.

Mount the plate to the wall, and you're done.

Done it before with other applications, and it doesn't look too bad.

Hope that helps,
mike
