i am on a tight budget, and i need a preamp to power a SP B1 to record raps and produce them with reason... Is the audio buddy a good choice?

to me, it sounds fine. but, some say that it does'nt provide full 48 volt phantom power. i did have a problem using a 990 mic with the audiobuddy that i think was due to the lower voltage phantom power. you might check with pmi audio about how many volts of phantom power the b1 requires.

yea the b1 says it needs 48 volts... now im not so sure bout what to do

tight budget

If your funds are tight, try a StudioProjects VTB-1, for cleaner sound, don't switch in the tube. If funds are real, real tight, try the ART Tube MP - get the original one, not a studio version, and try it first without the extra +20db gain (no toob stage). Phantom power on both is optimal.
