Is Audimute Pro a good quality material for echos and soundproofing during recording?
While it probably will work to some extent to help eliminate reflections if placed correctly, it will do virtually nothing for isolation.
As an absorber, the absorption coefficient looks "comparable" to 1" Owens Corning 703 rigid fiberglass. However, there are many variables here. One is price. I would bet that blanket is 5-10 times the price per square foot of rigid fiberglass too, but I have no way of knowing.
As far as "soundproofing", it is not designed for that application. You need to understand something. Sound absorption and "sound proofing" are two different concepts. These blankets will do virtually nothing for "soundproofing". And that term is a misnomer anyway. Isolation is the correct term, and there are different levels of it. However, there are limp mass products that you can hang for a "soundproofing" solution but they are extremely expensive and are usually used as an enclosure for industrial applications. For rooms, unless the whole room is draped, flanking around them will render them useless. If you seriously need to improve the isolation of your space then information is what you really need first. Read this. Hopefully it will help you understand a bit. Although, they do use the term "soundproofing", which is misleading, as there is no such thing. Unless you build a concrete bunker with 10' thick walls.

If you insist on using the blankets, good luck. Maybe you know something I don't.
