Emeric,

Heres what I found following most of your advice at monarchcomputer.com,

Cases: 1002092 Monarch Mid-Tower FK-603SNP w/350W PS
Case Fan -: None
Motherboards: 110036 - Asus P4B266 i845D DDR
Processor: 120431 - Intel P4 478 2.0GHz (Retail Box-w-Fan)
Heat Sink Fan: 130969 - AOC EC-CUC-610A Copper Base
Memory: 140835 - 512 MB DDR 2700 (333) Samsung
Hard Drive: 150206 - Seagate 40 GB Barracuda ATA 7200 IDE
2nd Hard Drive: 152104 - Western Digital 20 GB 7200
CD-ROM: 160303 - Asus 52X CD-ROM
CD-RW/DVD-RW: 160819 - Lite-On 32x12x40 CD-RW w/BP
Sound Card: 180207 - Audio Excel AV512
Video Card: 190302 - PowerColor GeForce2 MX400 (TV OUT) 64MB
Modem: 200506 - Creative Modem Blaster v.92 PCI Modem
Network Card: 280203 - D-Link WOL 10/100 PCI Warranty: 800007 - 1 Year - Parts & Labor - Barebone

This would be $1320
+ a monitor, keyboard and a mouse. So say near $1600
Plus the Omni I/O studio bundle for $419

So im looking at about a $100 more, plus I have to install the delta 66 and the omni and configure it to my software.

In the end which do you think is the better deal for me?

Just my thoughts.

This is what I'd build, based around those specs:

ASUS P4B266
Intel Pentium 4 2GHz
40GB Seagate quiet 7200RPM (OS, price difference between a 20GB $8)
Panasonic floppy
512MB DDR, namebrand. Samsung, Micron, Hyundai etc.
40GB Seagate quiet 7200RPM
LG Electronics 24X10x40 CD-RW
Omni-I/O Bundle (Delta 66 + the omni studio)
Nvidia based video card, 64MB AGP (MSI, Powercolor)
In-Win S508 Mid-tower ATX, 300W Powerman powersupply
Keyboard/Mouse
Monitor, decent one, LG E700 flat CRT, or Philips Flat CRT.
Windows XP Home
----------------------------

I don't have to imagine that this would be a very cool recording platform. I called Emeric's bluff on this and had him build me one, very similar to this but customized to my needs.

It rocks.

The only things I changed were to utilize the Delta 1010 instead of the Omni bundle, a 300W Enermax PS, and I added a second 80GB audio drive in a removeable cartridge, the GeForce2 MX400 64MB video card, bumped the RAM to 1 GB, added a D-Link NIC and a Firewire card and put the whole magilla into a 19" 4U industrial rack mount case. I didn't want another keyboard, mouse or monitor so these were not included.

Did I already say it rocks? Either way, I'll say it again.
It ROCKS!

Despite the 4 fans in this beast it's quieter than my DELL and the case has a "door" cover over all of the openings in the front of the case except for the slats that are in front of a filter element.

Although Emeric tried to convince me that I should just build this system myself it was worth it to me to just take it out of the box, plug it in and fire it up. See my other thread:

He literally "Built" it? Does Emeric have a business, cause I'd be interested. The only reason I could only go with the specs I listed is because Dawbox is the only place I could find that would build the system for me and install, configure, and test the Omni studio for me, and those were the options they had on their build page.

Yeah he built it. And yes he does have a business.

Most of these DAW sites only have their vision of what a DAW should be. He was willing and able to build it the way I wanted it.
A Burger King System as it were.

Pricewise I think it came up a wash between building it myself and having him do it. YMMV.

I'm hesitant to go beyond what I've already said because that would border on SPAM and he's a lot cooler than that.

E-mail him (or me) and investigate it for yourself.
