Ok, been using a gina for over a year now. Ran the mains out of my little mixer, through the 2 channels of compressor, into the gina- i.e. 2 channels of nice, NON CLIPPING audio.
Now getting an 8/24 (in tomorrow), what's the cheapest way of getting 8 channels of non clipping (ie. compressed/limited) audio in? Do i need an 8 channel mixer w/ direct outs, through 2 4 channel multicom compressors? (est $1100), any good stereo or quad compressor/mic pre's out there that would cost less than that ammount for 8 channels? Is there a plugin i can get (for use w/ CEP and ntrack) which would compress/limit, so i'd only need to buy a mixer w/ 8 insert points? What do all you other users do, and how much have you sunk into it?
All comments greatly appreciated.
Also, anyone else have a gina and 8/24 running simoultaneously? 10 tracks in would be nice... I'll just have to test that one.
Nathan
