Hi

Call me a rebel, but I like AMD chips. Without them we'd still be paying a thousand bucks for a pentium 166. My question is how's the athlon work for a serious DAW? Why? Why not? Any compatability issues? etc?
Thanks
Rich
(p.s. When athlon first came out, peaple couldn't get a good mother board. I'm asking for advice from Athlon users with a descent mobo.)

Thanks Emeric
I will be using a sound blaster live platnum (already have it) I'm using a k6 3 450 right now. It works great accept for an unacceptable delay when using volme sliders and changing effects. The delay also effects the EQ in winamp. thats why I'm upgrading.

Compatability is the BIG issue. Forget using sound cards by Aardvark. I've also heard the Gadget products don't work either, but not positive. Call or email each and every sound card manufacturer you are considering and ask them about using it with the Athlon/VIA KX chipset.
