I've been one of those unfortunate users who has been limping along with a Via KT133 chipset (with George Breese patch). I'm looking for suggestions for another board that will provide greater stability. I'm tired of rebooting! What motherboards are you folks using with similar processors that kick butt?
Here's what I'm using to record/playback:

Thunderbird 1g
Abit 8363 with Via KT133 chipset (yikes)
Delta 44
(Have a soundblaster live but dropped it because of incompatibility with the via chipset, would like to restore it for its MIDI)
Vegas Audio 2.0 and other SF products for multitrack
Geoforce 32 video (Will replace with a Matrix g450 as per 'roll your own' suggestion)
W98SE
Two 20gig IBM 7200 drives
256 pc133 ram

Any other users besides RedC that have suffered through the Via Chipset hell?
Let me know how I can be saved!

Well, the 'roll your own' article suggests the Iwill KK266 mobo, which also uses the VIA KT133a chipset, so maybe there's something esle wrong with your setup and configuration.

Doesn't the combination 'Abit mobo and Asus GFX card' have a history of incompatibility? See if that new GFX card helps (and send your old one to me..)

Biostar M7vkb, or if you have to have something to support 266 FSB the M7vkd.
