I have been doing my research and narrowed down to these three for vocal/guitar mic. It will be used for male vocal and placed infront of the amp for guitar. Anyway which one should i go for C1, nt1000 or AT4040?
This is the first time i am purchasing condenser mic so i need some help!

Spoilt with choices

Those 3 are good mics...

I guess it comes down to your personal preference.

Test them out and see which one sounds best to you.

Personally I am using a C1 ( as shown in my avatar).

Flip a coin. They should all be up to the task.

The AT4040 will probably give you the biggest stiffy on the guitar cab thing, though.

I tend to like the 4050 on female vocals more than male. But its still a great vocal mic... Havent tried the other ones... Check Ebay... I got my 4050 for $350.

I don't want to influence your decision but one of these stands out considerably over the others.

Two of them, actually. :D

Ok, I gotta ask Chessrock, which ones are your favorites.

Mine was the AT 4040 for overall smoothness and even tone at the high end. The others sounded too warbly and brittle on the highs.

Your turn.

Ditto on the 4040. Sounded the most balanced.

The SP sounded as if it were totally devoid of any mids whatsoever. Not even a second option on accoustic guitar as far as I'm concerned, although it's not a bad vocal mic at all.

What I like about the nt1000 with a guitar, is the way the guitar sits in the mix. It is not my first choice for when the guitar is the main part of the song, but when you want to have the acoustic to cut through the mix, without a pile of effects or eq, the nt1000 really shines. It is bright, but it doesn't give the guitar a twangy country sound.
