AT2020 Condensor Mic

I am about to buy an Audio Technica AT2020 Side Address Cardiod Condensor Studio Mic off of Amazon. I will be connecting it to a Xenyx 502 audio interface. Anyone know if it is a good mic overall? i will be using it for rapping and singing

The AT2020 is a decent, "budget" condensor.

As long as you do not purchase the AT2020 USB, it should work fine on your mixer, and as long as you have the "post-2008" (I think) Xenyx 502 with phantom power.

The 2020 was the very first condenser mic that I ever bought. I disliked it so much that I went back to using my old dynamic mics until I could sell it and buy something different. It may work for you, depending what you're gonna do with it but to my ears it was really harsh sounding and seemed like it really couldn't tolerate any kind of reasonable SPL. If you've got a little more cash, I highly recommend going with something different. I ended up with the 4040 and I enjoy it much more.
