Any thoughts about the direction would be appreciated. I guess the question is -- if you were producer on this song, what would you suggest?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Nice full sound, sounds analog-y. The bass seems kinda subsonic, I like the keyboard sound. The vocals seem well performed, they stick out of the mix and sound kinda seperate from the music at times, I would run some light compression on them. Skilled songwriting, nice bridge and the melodies are nice. As far as the end-2 suggestions 1-A guitar solo 2-Drop the drums and do a tender moment kind of ending which you kind of do but it could be done earlier. Nice job-sounds very good.

Thanks for both the suggestions and the nice words, Strat -- I'm not good enough to do the guitar solo -- but whoever does it will need to have just the right "touch" ... for I think it's going to be tricky.

I reset the count again on the file w/ an updated mix (now on the link above) -- taking your suggestion of evening out the lead vocal sound. I pulled back the low end slightly too -- and took special note of you liking the keyboard sounds ... as a distorted Rhodes tremelo is an unusual sound to work with.

Hello,

I think the solo is a great idea, and it doesnt have to be a slayer solo u know? Just something melodic, using the same notes as vocals that'd be nice.

And yes, i think sometimes the vocals seems to be off a lil bit. Tombs sometimes are too far away in my opinion.

Its a good song.

Cheers.

Producer-like suggestions....

It's an abrupt start. Maybe just two "transition" chords stepping up to the chord that really kicks in the song.

Vocals going 'ooooh' in the prechorus might be a nice, if obvious, touch.

there is a clean guitar over on the left during the vamp/outro. It's a bit simplistic. I think there is space in the listener's horizon to play something a little more involved. Same guitar sound - just a more involved part.

Perfect thoughts folks -- and Trip -- I heard the same w/ the "Oohs" (it is sort of obvious).

Thanks both!
